Seeking a Physical Therapist II (per diem) with a background and interest in neurological rehabilitation and research. Primary functions are to provide therapy for patient’s post-stroke in a research setting.
Salary Range: $73.46 – $81.62 Hourly
Required:
Physical Therapy license in the State of California.
Previous tech experience, both with formal lectures and clinical education, minimum of three years
Skill in Physical therapy assessment and treatment of patients with spinal cord injury or neurological injury patients. particularly evaluation of muscle strength, range of motion, posture, functional ability, motor control and compensatory movement patterns.
Knowledge about cerebral palsy and related disorders including possible etiologies, clinical features, associated disabilities, types of surgical and nonsurgical treatment used, specific physical therapy treatments, assessment techniques and equipment used.
Ability to coordinate and prioritize a large number of tasks.
Ability to use University research libraries for literature searches.
Skill in motivating young adults with injuries and gaining their cooperation for testing and treatment sessions.
Skill in communicating clearly and professionally using proper grammar in written and verbal documents.
Knowledge of normal and abnormal motor function and muscle firing patterns.
Skill in using computers for data acquisition, analysis, graphics programs, and word processing.
Ability to supervise staff, students and other professionals.
Ability to work independent, motivated individual with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Preferred:
Skill in operating systems and equipment used for 3D motion analysis including motion analysis system, electromyography, force plates and related computers and computer programs.
Previous experience with spinal cord injury patients undergoing surgical procedures.
