Job Summary
The Office of the Chief Information Security Officer/Cybersecurity is looking for student workers to join the team with a start date of summer or fall 2024. We are most interested in students who are planning to pursue careers in information security after graduation. There are many open positions in the information security field, but most of them require experience. We would like to provide our students that experience, while also furthering our mission to protect Auburn University. Your schedule would be very flexible to meet the demands of your school work.

Essential Functions
  • Monitor security alerts and notices
  • Triage incoming security incidents
  • Identify compromised systems and follow up appropriately with systems administrator
  • Review vulnerability reports and work with the responsible parties on remediation
  • Create new searches, reports, and alerts in Splunk
  • Respond to and research reports of phishing
  • Perform digital forensics relating to various investigations
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled student at Auburn University
  • Must be a US Citizen

Expectations:
  • An interest in information security
  • A good grasp of basic computing and networking concepts
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fundamental understanding of cloud computing concepts
  • Fundamental understanding of offensive security concepts
Pay Rate $12.00/hour
Work Hours 10-20
