$15.52 to $17.07 hourly.  Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.  Central Area.  Work schedule is variable and includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.  Performs entry-level service maintenance work in Parks and Recreation assisting with maintaining and making repairs to parks, athletic fields, grounds, buildings, and equipment.

 

REQUIREMENTS Three (3) months of combined experience in grounds and building maintenance.  Experience in mechanical or equipment repair is preferred.  SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment.  Must successfully complete, within nine (9) months of employment, all of the classes for the Brevard County Mandatory Training for the Development of New Employees.  The applicant will be disqualified from further consideration for the position if a Level I background criminal background investigation, performed in accordance with Brevard County Administrative Order 5 (AO-5), discloses the applicant has disqualifying convictions (as defined in AO-5).  In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
