Job Description

Summary

JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Nurse Manager will support the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthoepdics (RIAO) Operating Room at Sinai Hospital. The RIAO OR consists of 6 operating rooms and has 30 FTEs that will report to this leader. The Assistant Nurse Manager is a supportive role to the OR Nurse Manager and staff. The role has 24/7 accountability with a focus on improving and sustaining positive patient outcomes, the patient experience, facilitating patient throughput, staff engagement, operations, fiscal and change management. In addition, it will be a requirement for this individual to maintain basic nursing skills as required by their specialty. The individual must demonstrate basic competence in clinical, ethical and legal aspects surrounding the provision of patient care. In the absence of the Nurse manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager will assume full oversight and responsibilities for their assigned unit: RIAO Operating Room. The Asst. Nurse Manager position is roughly 50% staffing and 50% administration and leadership.
REQUIREMENTS: BSN degree required; MSN, MS, MA or MBA is preferred. 1 year of formal nursing leadership experience is preferred. 1-3 years of relevant experience required. Maryland Registered Nurse License (RN), American Heart Association CPR Certification (BLS), PALS & ACLS within 6 months of hire (if applicable), Must be a member of a Professional Organization.
