Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: The Nuclear Applications Engineer - works with customers and industry groups relating to nuclear facilities on nuclear products and qualification and represent RSCC as the expert in nuclear cables. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Represent RSCC by attending industry conferences, participating in industry standards development committees (such as chairman), presenting to customers, writing papers, and interacting with customers while upholding RSCC's reputation as the recognized expert in nuclear cable. * * Visit customers to provide technical assistance for new cable designs, new equipment qualification test programs, give presentations, and other duties as needed. * Responsible for the development and improvement of the manufacturing processes as it applies to the production of wire and cable products used in the nuclear industry. Assist in the control of the manufacturing processes by recommending the most efficient and effective usage of the plant equipment, materials, and... manpower. * Accomplish engineering tasks that require the collection of technical data and analysis, problem identification and resolution, process evaluation, and cost analysis and reduction. * Initiates ideas, suggestions and recommendation within the arena of assigned projects. * Monitor nuclear test programs to ensure conformance with industry standard, safety specifications, regulatory guidance, and laws. * Prepares technical reports, test plans, and test reports. * Familiar with steam systems and nuclear equipment qualification test equipment such as loss of coolant accident (LOCA) simulators. EDUCATIONAL/JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Four-year engineering degree, preferably B.S. Electrical Engineering coupled with a minimum of 4 years' experience in the field or in a related area. Will consider equivalent work experiences in a wire and cable manufacturing environment in lieu of formal degree. Required travel to customers Must have the ability to represent the Company and give formal presentations
