Senior Product Designer

About this role:

The Senior Product Designer will bring design and drafting competencies into the product development cycle from the early concept stage to the product release stage.

This person will work on new, exciting products and technology using state of the art equipment while focusing on product design and problem solving as well as engineering documentation.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Drawing Tree creation and maintenance
  • Product design insight and problem solving
  • Product MCAD modeling and file management within a CAD file management system.
  • Drawing creation and updates (or delegation and oversight)
  • Bills of Material creation including PDM parts
  • Design of R&D test fixtures and equipment
  • Acquisition of prototypes
  • Tolerance Analysis
  • Print reviews including prints, BOMs, Tolerance Analysis
  • Change notice interface with documentation specialists
  • PDM deliverables including primary content files, BOMs, attachments
  • Formal BOM reviews
  • Assist with Illustrations and presentations

Basic Qualifications

  • Two-year technical Degree plus 5 - 10 years of experience in Product Design preferably within the medical device industry.
  • High level of proficiency with SolidWorks (or similar)
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Comfortable and effective in a highly collaborative environment
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Plastic part design experience a plus
