Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, the Home Patient Representative acts as primary contact to home patients for coordination of refill and delivery functions. Provides clerical and clinical support to pharmacists to include lab tracking and database maintenance. Works collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to enhance customer service and patient outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service both internal and external customers
  • Actively participate in the achievement of patient satisfaction
  • Digital dexterity e.g. use of computer keyboard and sterile compounding tools
  • Act as the single point of contact for patients
  • Confirm and make delivery changes for patients
  • Update patient information using specific programs

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • 3 years of experience with patient interaction as a Pharmacy Technician or other healthcare profession
  • 1 year of customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid license, registration and/or certification, in good standing, to practice as a Pharmacy Technician as required by the Board of Pharmacy in the state employed
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR) programs
  • Knowledgeable of HIPAA patient privacy and data security requirements, OSHA employee protection regulations, and accreditation standards for home health and home infusion pharmacy (or other relevant accrediting organizations)
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Bi-lingual
  • Technologically savvy with a multitude of equipment including, but not limited to computers, fax machines, scanners, printers, etc.
  • Comfortable with a number of operating systems and the Microsoft Office Package (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the best practices related to home infusion therapy
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
