Midway Crisis is a 4-bed Adult Family Home (AFH) for crisis stabilization in Eau Claire County. This program serves adult men and women with mental health and/or AODA issues to provide respite in a crisis situation. These crises may include loss of housing, medication stabilization, suicidal ideation, and grief or trauma. Midway staff assists the individual in gaining independence, self- confidence and self-respect in a safe and caring environment. Services available are defined by the needs of each individual, but may include support in medication management, independent-living skills, referral to community services, individual assessments, and 24-hour supervision. This is a part-time, weekend 2nd shift position and could pick up additional hours on other shifts as needed.
Under supervision, the Mental Health Specialist performs work involving the recovery, support and advocacy for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A High School Diploma or GED Equivalency is required for the position. Related experience or credits toward a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in social work, human services, psychology or similar major is required. One year of work experience in crisis or mental health preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to perform the essential duties of the role; a motor vehicle check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record per the LSS Driver Safety Procedure is required, and ability to meet LSS auto insurance requirements.
TRAVEL: Ability to travel on day trips as required up to 25-50%, although 3rd shift rarely requires travel.
