Position Summary: This position will perform various functions in ensuring the Fabricated Materials departmental scheduling and production processes run efficiently and effectively. Monitoring the day-to-day activities and workflow of the BFM departments and assisting as a communication interface of the Fabricated Materials group with other departments within the Organization.

General Purpose: To optimize throughput and minimize costs while ensuring on time performance with the highest quality possible. Responsible for scheduling jobs, assigning jobs to production personnel, timely issuance of materials, timely recording of completed jobs, enforcing accurate labor postings to jobs and communicating effectively with other groups that have a direct impact on the performance of the BFM group.

Role Qualifications:

  • Ability to work as a member of the Fabricated Materials group and assist the Operations Management in meeting established goals.
  • Ability to respond rapidly to an ever-changing "job shop" environment to ensure maximum utilization of resources.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision

Position Responsibilities:

  • Track and update job statuses and report to management as necessary
  • Schedule jobs to be completed in a timely manner
  • Insure quality meets company and customer standards
  • Insure the opening and closing of shop (lock up, turn off equipment, set alarms)
  • Report any damage, stolen property or company policies violations
  • Oversee maintenance of machines and equipment
  • Insure material is issued to jobs in a timely manner
  • Confirm production personnel properly record time worked on jobs
  • Assign production personnel to jobs based upon skill and job complexity
  • Perform other duties as directed by management

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of metallurgy and welding
  • 5 years of metal fabrication practices
  • MS Outlook and Excel
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
