Fire Alarm Inspector

Minimum of one year of previous, relevant field experience required

Experience in one or more of the following industries is helpful: electronic/electrical, fire alarm & life safety, and/or sprinkler systems
Responsibilities1.Conducts fire alarm testing and inspection. Documents all results in detailed building reports and/or discrepancy reports. Ensure that system is operating properly.

2.Reports problems or discrepancies resulting from the inspection.

3.Monitors fire alarm panel.

4.Completes reports and paperwork associated with the inspection.

5.Interacts with building owner or building engineer prior to, during and after completion of the testing process. Reviews report results and next steps as necessary.

6.Shares reports with other departments in order to resolve issues or discrepancies.

7.May train or assist less experienced/newer colleagues on the job.

8.Acts as our customers best service provider at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customers first choice for service.

9.Ensures proper testing equipment and materials are onsite for effective and safe testing and inspection process.

10.Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
SkillsBasic ability to read and understand blueprints and design drawings

Developing exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted

Basic math skills

Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Good English speaking and reading skills
OtherCertifications & Licenses: Industry and/or product-specific certifications helpful; must have or be able to obtain applicable state and/or local required industry licenses as required by state law; Must have valid drivers license with a clean driving record. Must obtain NICET certification within two years. Must pass extensive drug and nation-wide background testing.





Protective Clothing Required:

The position may require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use such as safety glasses, hard hat, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes or work boots (colleagues responsibility), as required on job site. May require safety vest.



Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear; uses hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. On occasion, the colleague may be required to climb and work in high places, stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. Position may also require work in confined spaces and exposure to different types of outdoor weather conditions. Risk of electrical shock and/or general hazards found in a construction environment are present.



The colleague must frequently lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift, push or pull up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.



Work Environment:

The position is a field position. The colleague will be required to travel to and from job sites daily. Must provide own transportation and carry some tools in own vehicle. Off-hours work including weekends, very early starts, nights, etc.
