Job Description

As the multi-specialty group practice for the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School, University of Minnesota Physicians has more than 950 physicians and 1,600 health professionals, providing clinical care in over 100 specialty and sub-specialty areas.  Our mission is three-fold: delivering exceptional patient care, advancing medicine through research, and training the next generation of health professionals.

University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our inpatient child and adolescent Hospitalist service at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital.

At, we have one of the largest inpatient mental-health and substance abuse programs for children and teensin the nation. Our wide range of services includes: inpatient, behavioral emergency center, partial hospitalization, outpatient clinics, counseling centers, adolescent chemical dependency program, and adolescent dual diagnosis day programs.

Join a collaborative multidisciplinary team of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, PMHNPs, Psychiatric RNs, Pediatric Medicine Hospitalists, Program Directors, Psychiatric Associates, Chemical Dependency Counselors and Recreational Therapists.

As an employee of Fairview Health Services at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, there are optional opportunities to teach medical students and residents as adjunct faculty of the University Of Minnesota Department Of Psychiatry.

Practice Details:

  • Practice at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN in a modern, bright patient care environment with therapeutic areas such as sensory rooms, a pool, and a playground.
  • Inpatient encounters average 10 beds per day.
  • Fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC).
  • Call Coverage: 4-8 weekends/year, 2-4 nights per month
  • Openings: Full Time. 1.0 FTE - 5 days/week with one day off every other week.

Income Details:

  • Salaried position.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME psychiatry residency and child and adolescent fellowship training program.
  • Board Certified/Board Prepared with the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association.
  • Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
  • Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
