Job Description

Kratos Training Systems (KTS) has an immediate opening for a Senior Program Manager. The KSTC Orlando Facility is the corporate headquarters for training systems and services. As a senior program manager, you will be responsible for leading a large program that provides Aircrew training capabilities to various customers across the globe. Representative tasks and duties include:

  • Manage and direct the daily execution of contract requirements to assure that cost, schedules and performance goals are met.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers to understand their needs, to anticipate obstacles to success, and to advocate internally on their behalf.

  • Review project team deliverables to ensure quality and adherence to internal and government standards and requirements.

  • Provide leadership to troubleshoot and solve complex technical and non-technical problems, seeking ways to mutually support customer requirements and business objectives.

  • Allocate and control contract budgets for labor, material, travel and services. Report program status to senior management on a monthly basis.
  • Demonstrate cash flow management principles by actively manage program performance based milestones to support company objectives.
  • Perform variance analyses of schedule and cost on a formal and informal basis and present them to senior management.
  • Develop leading verses lagging indicators to proactively predict program performance and implement timely corrective actions.
  • Manage project risks/opportunities and impact of changes, develop and execute mitigation plans, proactively manage escalation of issues to appropriate stakeholders, and manage scope creep.

  • Manage relationships and performance of sub-contractor scope of work to support program cost, schedule and performance objectives.

  • Provide interface, communication and coordination with internal and external customers on matters pertaining to existing contracts and bid and proposal activities.

  • Act as a change agent to streamline program execution with maximum return to both internal and external customers.

Required Experience:

Knowldege, Skills, Abilities

Education:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related discipline
  • At least 12 years of job related experience

Skills:

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project
  • Working knowledge of Risk/Opportunity Management and Earned Value Management
  • Previous management experience with in the training and simulation; specifically full mission simulators.
  • Experience managing hardware development or production programs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the systems engineering life cycle and processes
  • Working knowledge of Department of Defense Acquisition Frame work and associated design milestones

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • PMP certified (or ability to obtain).

  • Experience working within the virtual training domain, projection based technologies, image generators, and simulated weapon systems
  • Specific experience working with NAWCTSC, NAVAIR, PEO STRI, US ARMY, USMC, US NAVY, US AIRFORCE program offices.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (preferred).
