Job Description

OK Foods, Inc. is seeking a Plant Manager for our Further Processing Operations located in Oklahoma City, OK. This Plant Manager will be responsible for directing all plant management efforts, working with upper management, plant superintendents, supervisors, and outside vendors and contractors including USDA. This Plant Manager reports directly to the Business Unit Complex Manager located in Fort Smith, Arkansas headquarters operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Directs all plant operations in support of the company goals, objectives, quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Works well with management, operations, and cross-functionally.
  • Full understanding of plant operations and ability to manage yields, production, and quality.
  • Must be able to work with all areas of the company (sales, accounting, quality control, etc.) to reach goals.
  • Manages the plant budget in accordance with company guidelines and operational goals.
  • Must be able to control/meet yields, pplh, ppmh on the production lines.
  • Adherence to product quality standards and specifications.
  • Manages inventory in support of operational standards and objectives.
  • During the absence of the Plant Manager the Plant Superintendent will assume all duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications and Education:

- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent education and experience.

- Previous plant operations management experience.

- Poultry experience strongly preferred. Further Processing desired.

- Analytical business knowledge.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages subordinate superintendents, supervisors, and hourly employees at the Oklahoma City facility. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises two non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
