Job Description

SUMMARY

This position is primarily responsible for the processing duties for assigned mortgage loans generated by First United Bank employees.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

Performs duties from loans originated from any location throughout the company and/or from various Mortgage Consultants.

Provides excellent customer service to borrowers and internal customers.

Checks reports and follows up on assigned loans.

Ensures timely handling of all loan files.

Works within all posted service levels on all loans.

Reviews and evaluates documentation for completeness and communicates to customers in a one-on-one basis regarding loan status and any additional required documentation.

Works with the loan officer, borrower, and closer to provide updates, address any issues with loan files, and assure a smooth closing.

Submits completed loan files for underwriting approval.

Uses conversation log or memo sections in the current loan entry program each time a file is accessed or handled to accurately note progress of file.

Understands and adheres to mandatory compliance guidelines and attend training as required.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as requested by Executive Management or Supervisor.
  • Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
  • Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
  • Dresses professionally.
  • Recommends to supervisor possible methods to improve department.

Education and Work Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Some secondary education preferred.
  • Mortgage banking experience preferred.

Technical/Functional Competencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.
  • Ability to multi-task.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is sedentary work that requires the following physical activities:

  • Sitting or standing for long periods, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 10 pounds).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment.
