Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for the physical cycle counting process and daily reconciliation of inventory to insure product availability sufficient to meet customers' scheduled deliveries. Analyzes data and provides reports and analyses to management, reports on inventory issues, and assists with research and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform end of month, end of quarter, cycle, and physical counts of inventory.
  • Ensure ongoing inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate the timing of file extracts, reconciliation program and adjustments to meet host processing and warehouse operational needs.
  • Investigate, resolve and prevent inventory discrepancies by reviewing transaction history in the WMS (Warehouse Management System).
  • Correct back routes/re-routes and shipping errors.
  • Create and distribute daily inventory reconciliation reports, inventory adjustment summaries, warehouse productivity reports, and warehouse error reports.
  • Coordinate and monitor automated stock transfers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • Associate's Degree in Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Minimum two to three years related experience required preferably in transportation, logistics, inventory control or materials management.
  • Minimum one to three years industry experience preferred.

Languages and Communication Skills

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and vendors.

Computer Skills

  • Must be PC literate.
  • Intermediate level skill proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.

Other Skills/Experience

  • Experienced in database analysis and query development.
  • Experienced in inventory planning and analysis.
  • Skilled in report development and writing.
  • Working knowledge and experience with WMS (Warehouse Management System).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
  • Skilled in advanced mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reference materials, general business periodicals and professional journals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and vendors.
  • Ability to identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities; comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions.
  • Develops and uses collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and complete all projects in a timely manner.
  • Makes customers and their needs a primary focus of one’s actions; develops and sustains productive relationships.
  • Ability to support team members in furthering departmental goals through open and honest communication, promoting team interests over self interest.
  • Proven organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
