HDR is currently looking for a Transportation BIM Designer Intern to join our large team of transportation engineering professionals. The primary duty of the BIM Designer Intern will be to perform assignments under the direct supervision of an engineer or Project Manager. Typical responsibilities include adding in the development of creating preliminary and final designs, perform basic quantity and geometry calculations while working with a team of Engineers and other designers on various roadway, airfield, or site design projects. Typically is an individual enrolled in 2 year civil engineering technology program. Strong interest in roadway design required. It is preferred that the candidate has knowledge of Microstation/Autocad and Geopak/Civil3D, construction documents, technical and engineering knowledge and be able to work independently.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in associates or technical school degree program.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to work with minimal supervision to develop construction documents.
- Requires knowledge of CADD, design development, construction documents, technical and engineering knowledge.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Civil 3D, Microstation and/or AutoCad, Microsoft Office preferred
