In this role, you'll have primary responsibility for standardizing the configuration, deployment, and, maintenance of the Inteliquent IT Linux systems.  These systems are critical to Inteliquent's business, both customer and internally facing.  In this role, you'll combine your business skills with your technical acumen to effectively communicate with the IT operations and applications teams.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer Linux based servers in both the corporate and telecom/switch environment

• Responsible for backup functions, including scalability planning and execution of regularly scheduled backup tasks

• Perform application operations tasks for ElasticSearch, Portal and other applications residing on the Linux platforms

• Implement scripts to automate the execution and monitoring of systems and processes

• Communicate effectively with team members regarding the status of activities and projects

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related Technical Discipline

• 5-10 years’ experience performing IT operations functions

• Eight years’ experience administering Linux (Ubuntu) servers

• Three years’ experience performing IT Operational support for applications in a telecommunications business

Technical Skills

• Ubuntu Systems 14 16 18

• Able to utilize best practices in systems administration in Configuration, application support, and systems security (Ansible, Access Management).

• Linux system (services management)

• Network configuration (Bonding)

• Internal and External storage knowledge (LVM, SAN, DMP    

• Bash, Perl, and Python scripting  (Bash is required Perl and Python are nice to have)

• Change control management

• VMware skills, able to provision, deploy, and build and maintain VM Templates. 

• Performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning. (vmstat, iostat, htop, tcpdump ethtool)

• Monitoring of events and outages (SolarWinds experience a plus)

• Ansible Configuration Management experience – understand playbooks, Ansible command line, Ansible Vault (Ansible Tower is a plus)

• Knowledge of java, Tomcat Application server, code deployment

• Previous experience in support of an ElasticSearch (ELK environment is a plus); this would include installing, upgrades, capacity planning, and automation.

• Understand Disaster Recovery Principles (RTO, RPO)

• Experience supporting CentOS, Solaris a plus

• HP Proliant Hardware experience a plus (ilo automation)
