Job Description
Base Wage

Base wage is $15.00 per hour.

Primary Function

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for assisting the functions of the Finance and Accounting Department.

Primary Duties

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Legend: E = Essential / NE = Non Essential / N/A = Not Applicable

  1. Prepare, complete, distribute, and/or submit required items by due dates (accounts payable, payment requests, payroll, accounts receivable, etc.). E
  2. Manage, facilitate, enter, and report on data in all applicable systems or databases. E
  3. Act as a back-up for the Finance and Accounting Department (payroll, etc.) as needed. E
  4. Create, maintain, and update information (AP vendor files, employee payroll files, employee benefits worksheet, general departmental files, etc.). E
  5. Ensure all documentation is accurate and in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the agency; reconcile and correct errors accordingly. E
  6. Provide support services to Chief Financial Officer/Accounting Manager as needed. NE
  7. Comply with legal, organizational, and contractual requirements, laws and policies. E
  8. Attend meetings and professional development activities, as requested. E
  9. Establish and maintain good communication, collaboration, and cooperation with all stakeholders. E
  10. Follow all duties of a mandated reporter. E
  11. Perform other related duties, as assigned. E
  12. Be a team player. E
Required Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  1. Associate Degree in Accounting from an accredited school.
  2. One (1) year of experience in accounting; experience in the not-for-profit field highly desirable.
  3. Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office suite (word processing, spreadsheets, and data bases).
  4. Able to demonstrate positive cultural intelligence with diverse groups and individuals.
  5. Good critical thinking, organizational skills, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  6. Good communication, verbal and written, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with others.
  7. Valid Wisconsin driver's license, car, and state minimum insurance required, and must meet La Causa driving standards.
  8. Must be able to successfully pass criminal history background checks.
  9. Must be able to work flexible hours based on program needs, including some weekends and evenings.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is generally performed in office environments. Occasional local/state-wide travel may be needed.
