Manufacturing Supervisor
Pay Type:  Weekly Salary (Exempt Level Benefits)
Reports To:  Department Manager

Summary:  Ensure requirements for job safety, production and quality are met and maintained, the flow of product is continuous and the departments have the needed materials.  Train and develop employees to enhance the safety processes, improve quality, reduce waste and cost, and meet or exceed the customer’s delivery expectations.



Safety:  Follows, promotes, and implements all Company Safety Policies and specific JSHA’s for this position. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

 
  • Provide leadership and organization within the department.
  • Follows, promotes, and implements all Company policies.
  • Communicate necessary information to all associates.
  • Coordinate with shift counterparts.
  • Execute production schedules and follow up on customer orders as needed to meet delivery dates.
  • Responsible for associate training.
  • Make sure that each machine has the proper documentation before start up.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Efficient utilization of materials, labor and equipment.
  • Maintain high quality standards throughout the department.
  • Must be able to reference the A&E Quality Manual, A&E Employee Policies and Procedure manual on Lotus Notes, A&E Health and Safety Manual.
  • Complete shift reports and check employees’ time and attendance via Kronos system.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and Mainframe system.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications:

Educational/Specific Knowledge requirements:
 
  • 4 year College Degree or equivalent work experience of 2 years in supervisory capacity preferred.  Ability to motivate, lead and facilitate manufacturing initiatives while fostering a cohesive work environment.  Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization (report writing and presentation skills needed).
  • Technical background in textiles preferred.
  • Manufacturing knowledge/experience preferred.
  • Strong professional demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask with minimum supervision.  Good problem solving and people skills.  High level of independence, initiative and drive and be results oriented.
  • Ability to make decisions and exhibit good judgment.
  • Computer skills preferred.

Physical requirements:
  • Full use of extremities
  • Good dexterity – Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel and stretch
