As the Director of Business Intelligence, Sales Operations, you will be at the forefront of transforming our data-driven strategies to significantly elevate our Commercial team's operational efficiency and effectiveness. You will spearhead the BI team, bringing innovative solutions and insights that drive strategic decisions, optimize sales performance, and ultimately contribute to our mission of revolutionizing healthcare technology. Your leadership will be pivotal in molding our BI landscape, integrating cutting-edge technologies, and fostering a culture of analytical excellence.

What you will do

  • Lead and inspire a team of BI professionals for Sales Operations, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in business intelligence.
  • In this role, the Director of Business Intelligence is a strategic and dynamic leader responsible for aggregating, documenting, and ensuring the integrity of sales performance data from multiple data sources to create intelligent insights that help Commercial leaders and individual contributors, such as sellers, design or reinforce performance improvement programs that allow the Commercial department to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual goals/quotas. This Director will not only maintain the integrity of Sales Operations data but will also serve up actionable insights that allow the department to work in the most efficient manner possible while also being more proactive with performance improvement initiatives.
  • Play a key role in strategic decision-making processes, directly influencing the Commercial team's key objectives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation by implementing new tech or methodologies in BI that align with modern trends, potentially incorporating the use of Aritificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning to enhance the team's analytical capabilities.
  • Maintain the integrity, documentation, structure, and timely updates of key technologies utilized to perform all duties. Will act in accordance with all privacy and security protocols and laws.
    • Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Salesforce.com, Data Lake, compensation/attainment tech, Seismic, Microsoft Office tools, etc.
  • Provide leadership with accurate and timely insights to support the creation of annual bookings budgets, territory plans, compensation structure, enablement efforts, etc., all designed to drive revenue growth and hit or exceed goals and quotas.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely forecasting that allows leadership to proactively take action to plan and course correct as needed monthly, quarterly, and annually. Will also prepare insights for multi-year planning.
    • Leverage historical data and trends to proactively predict future growth and/or risk.
    • Includes actively engaging Solutions Consulting and Enablement to not only track performance, but provide trends and analysis around growth opportunities and performance improvement strategies.
  • Actively seeks partnerships with other key stakeholders and departments, such as finance, product, marketing, sales, customer success, etc., to build cross-functional data insights programs and strategic initiatives.
  • Responsible for building a world-class analytics team focused on performance improvement that continually seeks out opportunities for creating efficiencies through automation.
  • This position will work to reduce the "noise" in data and instead serve up daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual doses or prescriptive analysis that's easy for leaders and sellers to consume and take action upon, all while measuring increased performance.
  • Integrates all M&A activity and reporting, when applicable.
  • Responsible for QA and ensuring the integrity of all sales data.
  • Document and translate cross-functional business requirements into process/functional design/system solutions within Salesforce.com and analytics platforms.
  • Leverage data and insights to support the redesign of territory coverage models and incentive compensation plans.
  • Refine data models as needed and enhance metrics as the business evolves.
  • Assists in the preparation of data and presentations for meetings such as weekly Commercial Sales Meetings, Monthly Business Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, etc.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports that help build the team's reputation, along with individual development and overall ability to deliver strategic results that are accurate and timely.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Business Intelligence, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in business intelligence work who has successfully scaled business operations
  • 3+ years working specifically in Sales or Commercial Operations
  • Demonstrated success in leading BI initiatives that significantly enhanced business performance
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Power BI
  • Basic or Advanced SQL knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce.com
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing Artificial Intelligence and machine learning
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft tools - specifically Excel
  • Ability to quickly adapt and respond to the rapidly evolving Commercial team environment and sales landscape
  • Highly organized with exceptional time and project management skills
  • Above average ability to multi-task and successfully manage multiple initiatives at the same time
  • Above average Oral and written communication skills
  • Above average ability to collaborate across teams and departments

  • Travel required: up to 10%
