Knife River is committed to developing people. With a state of the art and one-of-a-kind training facility, Knife River is building the capacity to grow and sustain. Work within a team environment to establish training objectives and conduct needs assessments, research and evaluations in Frontline Training Areas that may include heavy equipment operation as well as driver development, systems, operator and maintenance development. Develop educational materials such as handouts, workbooks, slides, and videos. Work throughout the company to optimize and standardize training programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Detailed knowledge of the process steps in a construction and construction materials environment
2. Detailed understanding of the equipment used in construction and construction materials industry
3. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
4. Good organizational, project management, and time management skills
5. Thorough knowledge of adult education theory and content design
6. Must have familiarity with adult education theory and curriculum design normally obtained through a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
7. Must be competent in stand up delivery of content, including co-training/co-facilitating
8. Strong drive to achieve and continue learning
9. Ability to travel approximately up to 30%
10. Ability to host/facilitate trainings via Microsoft Teams as necessary
11. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Develop and deliver training content to enhance student skills in the safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment family or content module
2. Work with stakeholder groups as appropriate to identify training needs and goals
3. Monitor, evaluate, and record training activities, materials and program effectiveness through on-going metrics and reporting activities
4. Work with the Training Coordinator to ensure new or revised content is published and prepared appropriately for delivery
5. Work with the Training Coordinator to maintain a schedule of training resources (personnel, materials, equipment, and time)
6. Directly deliver instructor lead on-site (KRTC) and off-site courses
7. Ensure on-going maintenance of equipment necessary for content delivery
8. Assist in the maintenance and operation of Knife River Training Center
