Position Announcement

The Associate Athletics Director of Compliance is a key member of the athletics department executive leadership team responsible for ensuring adherence to NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of NCAA compliance standards, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders within the athletics department and across the university. Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Monitor and interpret NCAA legislation to ensure compliance with all relevant rules, and serve as the primary point of contact for NCAA compliance inquiries and investigations.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to identify areas of improvement and ensure adherence to established standards.
  • Oversee the collaboration with academic advisors, coaches, and other stakeholders to monitor student-athlete academic progress and certifications, including initial eligibility, academic eligibility, and amateurism.
  • Coordinate the submission of required documentation for NCAA eligibility waivers and appeals.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive compliance education and training programs for coaches, student-athletes, and athletics department staff.
  • Foster a culture of compliance within the athletics department through ongoing education and communication initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit required NCAA compliance reports and certifications in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conduct investigtions into alleged violations of NCAA rules and regulations and coordinate with appropriate university officials and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct compliance rules review seminars for departmental administrators, coaches, and student athletes.
  • Disseminate new Conference and NCAA legislation and interpretations to coaches and departmental staff.
  • Consult with coaches and other administrative staff regarding program compliance and provides appropriate training opportunities for athletics staff.
  • Maintain regular contact with officials from the NCAA and conference offices to obtain current and accurate information regarding regulations and compliance.
  • Responsible to supervise and oversee athletics compliance staff and any sports program that is designated. Serve as liaison for all new staff members on policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in NCAA compliance or related field within intercollegiate athletics.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules and regualtions, with a proven track record of interpreting and applhying complex compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Good computer skills with a general understanding of application software and the internet.
  • Must work weekends and/or holidays, as assigned team sport event schedule dictates.
Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time overtime-exempt staff position. Annual salary of $80,000-$90,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Desired start date of July 2024.
