POSITION SUMMARY

The Lift Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the Lift Operations and Validation departments. Consistently providing leadership to the team to facilitate the effective operation of 14 lifts for summer and winter operations. The Lift Operations Manager ensures that team members are properly trained on safety protocols and promotes a safety culture within the department. Responsible for timecard and labor management, recruitment, budgeting, planning, and other additional administrative tasks. The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong leadership skills and have a background in Lift Operations. This is a full-time year-round benefit eligible role with a pay range of $59,000 - $70,000/year based upon experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Responsible for scheduling and ensuring that all lifts are fully staffed each day
  • Ensure accurate timecard and labor management
  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing and hiring all lift operators and validators
  • Conduct training sessions and keeping all relevant training materials up to date
  • Oversee daily operations including maintaining flow, ensuring the safety of all guests and employees and collaborating with other departments as necessary
  • Participate in all Mountain Operations team meetings providing feedback and input on operations, and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Monitor and evaluate employee performance and behavior to provide meaningful feedback and direction, providing recognition or counseling as necessary
  • Assist in creating department budgets and purchasing
  • Assign, execute and ensure completion of projects for supervisors and leads
  • Administrative tasks such as inventory control (drills, batteries, paint, lumber, uniforms, tissues, office supplies, etc.), daily lift logs, updating/tracking employee records (department policies, offboarding/onboarding)
  • Conducting monthly safety/service trainings, facility audits and submit work orders as needed
  • Enforce all employee punch times and document attendance issues

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: Lift operations and supervisory experience required

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have a reliable mode of transportation and a clean driving record
  • Travel to various locations on resort required by vehicle


Mountain Environment:
  • The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...
  • The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.
  • Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.
  • Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
