Description

General Description: Arora Engineers, LLC. provides design and construction services for MEP, fire protection and alarms, and low voltage/special systems for aviation, transportation, educational, and commercial and institutional facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and controlling health hazards in various work environments to ensure the safety and well-being of employees. This role requires a deep understanding of occupational health standards, risk assessment, and the implementation of effective mitigation strategies.

Overall Responsibility: involved in projects with our Planning and Design Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage environmental projects covering a variety of activities including remediation, site characterization, remedial design, environmental compliance, including Phase I environmental site assessments, compliance audits, hydrogeology and remediation field investigations, industrial Hygiene and Abatement.
  • Responsible for ensuring that environmental deliverables, schedules and budgets are achieved.
  • Perform field work for site characterization and site remediation projects including oversight of subcontractors and sampling of soil, soil vapor, sediment, surface water and groundwater in accordance with state and Federal regulations and generally accepted protocols.
  • Design and conduct subsurface investigations which include drilling, geologic/geotechnical logging and environmental media sampling.
  • Perform engineering calculations, cost estimates, data validation, and report preparation.
  • Prepare reports, including documentation field investigative procedures, data management and interpretation, development of graphical and tabular presentation of data, and Phase 1 environmental site assessments.
  • Perform professional environmental engineering work and assist with conducting investigations and inspections of air emission sources, hazardous or solid waste facilities, water supply facilities, industrial and agricultural facilities, pollution sources and proposed and existing site conditions, water resources, and underground storage tanks to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits.
  • Verify the characteristics of a site, providing technical assistance on various environmental issues.
  • Assist Program and Project Managers with scope and fee development.
  • Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).
  • Data analysis and reporting for specific environmental project tasks with minimal supervision including, recommend remedial solutions to technical problems in accordance with accepted scientific/engineering practices and principles.
  • Provide technical review for projects to comply with environmental laws, company standards, contract requirements and related specifications.
Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with United States Postal Service Facilities Technical Group
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or other related fields.
  • 7+ Years of relevant general occupational safety and health/industrial hygiene experience
  • Ability to obtain or have:
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Professional Geologist (PG)
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Demonstrated scientific or engineering expertise with Federal, State and Local environmental regulations.
  • A strong background and experience in ACBM/LBP/Mold assessment, abatement, and/or project monitoring oversight and management of field operations is a must for this position
  • strong oral and written communication abilities, proposal writing and cost estimating as well as technical report writing experience required
  • the ideal candidate will additionally have a working understanding of our key client, the US Postal Service, or similar union workforce environments in terms of the performance and management of industrial hygiene, ACBM/LBP and other health/safety, and emergency response and preparedness projects
  • Working knowledge and experience with state and federal protection regulations, guidelines, and consulting processes pertaining to specific IH related hazards
  • familiarity with local, state, and federal permitting agencies
  • project management experience with small to mid-level projects including tracking hours and expenses for project work
  • effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively, professionally, and appropriately to the specific audience
  • highly capable self-leadership and self-disciplined skills, with attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with the strict adherence to QA/QC
  • proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by company health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  • 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER certification and must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator
