Job Description

The Regulatory Compliance Analyst supports the compliance function through assisting with regulatory examinations, researching regulatory changes at the state and line of business level, collaborating with other business units, Corporate Legal, and various compliance teams to proactively ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Conducts regulatory research projects and creates reference materials to assist corporate employees with compliance requirements. Disseminates regulatory compliance information to compliance stakeholders. When necessary, performs audits to identify areas of non-compliance and collaborates to create action plans to mitigate the negative impact of non-compliance.


  • Supports, prepares, and files the Corporate Governance Annual Disclosure.
  • Assists in the preparation, including coordinating meetings and gathering documentation, for market conduct exams, Federal Reserve Bank inspections, or any other corporate regulatory review.
  • Participates in research projects at the state, national or line of business level.
  • Collaborates accordingly:
    • With Government Relations, Corporate Legal, Analytic Resource Center, and other regulatory compliance peers to address a variety of ad hoc regulatory compliance issues facing Westfield.
    • With company regulatory compliance peers to address and bring solutions to corporate regulatory compliance issues.
  • Conducts reviews with a focus on proactively identifying areas of non-compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborates with the Corporate Compliance Officer to identify and implement procedural changes to increase the adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Assists in the preparation of responses to department of insurance queries or other regulators.
  • Provides administrative support for Westfield's grassroots organization (GrOW), political action committee (WEFEDPAC), and other Government Relations programs.
  • Balance and maintain WEFEDPAC's bank account for monthly review by PAC Treasurer.
  • Assists the Chief Compliance Officer with any other document preparations or projects, as necessary.


  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, Business, Communications (or related field) or commensurate experience.
  • 4+ years of insurance industry experience in any compliance area, which may include commercial or personal underwriting, claims, policy processing or product management.
  • Current knowledge of insurance laws, statutes and regulations gained through work experience.
  • Experience analyzing problems and developing recommendations.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills resulting in the ability to:
    • Deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner.
    • Articulate messages in a way that is broadly understandable.
    • Adjust communication content and style to meet need of diverse audience.
    • Actively listen and checks for understanding.
