Salary for Announcement

We anticipate the qualified candidate to be placed between $49,900 - $62,400. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Industry Partnerships, the Assistant Director of Industry Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Partnerships is responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to develop the diversity, equity and inclusion framework and programs that accelerate student career success. This role will also build the framework to collaborate with employer partners to embed equity and inclusion into talent recruitment strategies. This role will foster connection points for industry partners to support the respectful exchange of ideas and be a catalyst for collaborative work of advancing equity and inclusion in Colorado's talent pipeline development.

The C2 Hub Assistant Director of Industry DEI Partnerships will oversee special projects and/or assignments that are sensitive or complex in nature, requiring a high level of independence, initiative, and professional discernment. This position establishes procedures, policies, and practices aligned to values of equity and social justice.

The person in this role will establish scalable best practices, assess diversity recruitment engagement, and provide data driven insights and recommendations. We are seeking someone for this role who has already established themselves as a team-oriented and collaborative partner in their work environment(s), with a project management mind-set and a passion for championing DEI. The key to this role is the ability to prioritize, be responsive, navigate ambiguity, and make an impact. The Assistant Director needs to be able to navigate a wide range of campus partnerships as well as work autonomously on building programs that have impact.

Duties/Responsibilities

(50%) - Career Equity Program Development and Management

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop an equity and inclusion framework to advance MSU Denver's strategy and responsiveness to industry trends on diversity and inclusion recruitment initiatives.
  • Support the C2 Hub leadership team to develop an infrastructure to advance equity initiatives related to career development particularly for students who are underrepresented in key industries.
  • Partner with the C2 Hub Student Success Team to develop meaningful, relevant, and impactful programs that engage employers and students who underutilize career development programs.
  • Coordinate diversity, inclusion and equity professional development and training opportunities for Classroom to Career Hub staff and student employees.
  • Lead projects related to equity and inclusion; Serve as liaison between Diversity & Inclusion recruiters, Industry Navigators, and campus support programs.

(50%) - External Impact & Data Analysis

  • Collaborate with employer partners and MSU Denver Industry Navigators to embed equity and inclusion into talent recruitment strategies.
  • Engage industry partners employee resource groups in meaningful programing that provide professional development opportunities for MSU Denver affinity student organizations as well as advance DEI strategies for organizations.
  • Build trusting partnerships with DEI leaders, develop forums to foster connection points to support the respectful exchange of ideas and be a catalyst for collaborative work of advancing equity and inclusion.
  • Qualitative and Quantitative depth: Go deep in the internal and external tools, resources and diversity data and lead strategy with quantitative facts, while understanding the nuance and changes that effect the data, in order to provide a full story.
  • Use your initiative to develop and assess diversity programs based on insights from analytical review and investigation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience building strategies and executing processes and programs within Recruitment, HR, Talent Management or D&I
  • Demonstrated experience in leading diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form and to maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, students, staff, and community partners.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize multiple projects when faced with frequent interruptions and fluctuating workload
  • Ability to use high level discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to develop and maintain group cohesion and work effectively as a team member
  • Experience creating, engaging, and supervising diverse teams
  • Experience working in customer service
  • Skill to recruit, motivate, and evaluate student employees and volunteers

Work Hours

  • 40 hours per week,
  • Hybrid schedule (on-campus and remote) available for this position.
