Position Overview

The Health & Safety Representative will lead the safety and occupational health management, surveillance, inspections, and safety enforcement on the project construction site.

Education, Experience and Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years with primary responsibilities of job site safety.
  • 30-hour OSHA construction safety class or equivalent within the last 5 years.
  • OSHA 500 trainer a plus but not required.
  • An average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training.
  • Be familiar with EM 385-1-1 would be a plus but not required.
  • He/she will be on project sites during construction and responsible for the safety and occupational health management, surveillance, inspections and safety enforcement of the project site.
  • He/she will also conduct daily safety meetings prior to work commencement as well as construction site orientation/etc.
  • Site Safety Inspections- Managing, implementing, and enforcement of the Safety and Health Program in accordance with the accepted Accident Prevention Plan for both CTI and each subcontractor's company.
  • Conduct safety and health inspections and maintain a written log.
  • Complete daily reports as necessary to send to client, Project Manager and corporate office.
  • Conduct mishap investigations and complete required reports.
  • Maintain the OSHA Form 300 and Daily Production reports for prime and subcontractors.
  • Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site. Implement and enforce accepted APPs and AHAs.
  • Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system that monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution.
  • Write Safety proposals, interpret regulations, develop training, draft inspection standards and draft safety assessment tools.

  • Previous experience in federal and/or military construction is a plus.

  • Travel occasionally, no relocation available.
  • In addition, perform any other job-related duties as requested by supervisor.
  • Physical ability to oversee project activities related to the position, including travel to project sites and can use safety equipment as required.
  • Safety conscious.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work well and communicate efficiently with clients, subcontractors, and other team members.

Additional Requirements:

  • CTI is a Drug-Free Workplace - Must pass pre-hire drug screen.
  • Must possess valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to physically navigate construction sites.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
