Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our LJI team. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the execution of a fast-paced, anti-viral vaccine program that coordinates labs across the country. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, grant programs, academia, and working with federal agencies. Additionally, familiarity with or expertise in vaccines, immunology and/or virology will be highly beneficial.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage an integrative project team to provide for the successful execution of a multi-collaborator program.
  • Provide oversight and direction for day-to-day operational issues and establish and implement project management procedures.
  • Coordinate overall project activities, assess needs and prioritize to ensure projects are on-track and meeting objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from government, external collaborators, and academia to drive alignment and progress towards program goals.
  • Apply your expertise in NIH or other federal grant programs to navigate funding processes and requirements effectively.
  • Identify and resolve program execution issues promptly, and providing timely delivery of milestones and objectives.
  • Generate progress reports and other deliverable project documentation as needed.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to the team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Communicate project updates, challenges, and successes to collaborators and leadership.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements, maintaining flexibility and agility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work independently and demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.

Leveling Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in project management, preferably in life sciences.
  • Certification in Project Management desirable.
  • Experience working with NIH or other federal grant programs,
  • Knowledge or experience in vaccines, immunology, virology, or related fields is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary project teams and drive successful outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly recognize and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Proficient with G Suite and MS Office Suite
