Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Quality Compliance Director, the Quality Manager will manage all quality functions at our New Kensington Plant. Responsibilities will include reviewing quality issues, conducting root cause analysis, and overseeing the laboratory onsite. A key aspect will be keeping senior leadership informed, maintaining a sense of urgency, recommending improvements and holding accountability. DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accountable for overseeing quality.
  • Create Nonconformance reports (NCRs) for quality issues that arise both internal and external.
  • Lead quality investigations while completing root cause analysis. (8D format, 3 legged-5 why's)
  • Create blend sheet for formulas as they are extended from corporate.
  • Create and maintain Policies and Procedures that relate to quality and processes.
  • Accountability to oversee project completion (on time/in full).
  • Manage ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 duties on site.
  • Represent the organization in customer audits and coordinate audit finding responses.
  • Conduct Internal Audits
  • Ability to test physical properties. (pH, specific gravity, foam, density, reserve alkalinity, freeze point)
  • Manage Customer Quality Requests/Issues
  • Provide leadership in the identification of quality improvements.
  • Own weekly and monthly reporting of KPIs.
  • Prepare and ship samples that need to be sent out for testing.
  • Develop and promote the right behaviors to sustain a culture where quality is the highest priority.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of processes at the plant. Participate in operations leadership community in order to maximize awareness and performance.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing plant quality experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrated success within high performing cross-functional teams.
  • Good analytical and research / problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills required (both written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of PCs and related software such as Excel, Word, SAP
  • Willing to Learn and Grow Beyond the Job Description
  • Proven success leading and implementing quality improvements.
  • Ability to manage a team.
  • Able to build relationships and inspire others.
