Position Overview:

Performs administrative duties to support Business Banking, credit functions and Executive Management. Assists Business Banking Officers and the Business Banking Manager in processing and servicing their Business Banking loan and deposit customers. Interacts frequently with Business Banking customers through phone and e-mail. Serves as assistant to Executive Management, Scheduling meetings, Manage and prepare presentations.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Act as primary contact with Lender and Loan Administration through the loan process. Assist lender(s) and act as secondary customer contact in Lender's absence.
  • Primary liaison with the loan administration, loan operations, SBA, credit, and any other department that has direct or indirect impact on the customer and maintain strong partner relationship with these departments.
  • Processes various letters, reports, and memos, and composes routine correspondence using a variety of software programs.
  • Develops and implements reports for senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Assists in the initial underwriting of commercial loans by obtaining and reviewing financial statements, credit bureau reports, business reports, legal searches, internal credit, and depository histories.
  • Works closely with loan operations to ensure that servicing issues and requests for in-house loan documents, post-closing documents and funding requests are handled in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Attends loan closings as required and assumes increasing responsibilities in that process (e.g., closing smaller commercial loans).
  • Forwards correspondence to attorneys regarding pending and closing loans.
  • Reviews loan documentation on all commercial loans to ensure that regulatory compliance, credit approval reports and SBA loan authorizations are complete and accurate on all loans.
  • Assists customers with the administration of their commercial banking relationship (e.g., payment/balance questions, line of credit transfers, etc.)
  • Coordinate executive communications, assist, and accommodate visitors and take messages or field/answer questions as appropriate.
  • Manage several corporate wide projects and prepare presentations as assigned.
  • Assess the urgency and importance of organizational situations and take appropriate action to notify necessary team members for resolution. Needs to engage with many of the team leaders.
  • Coordinate information from several sources and prepare of variety of reports required for executive management.
  • Uphold a strict level of confidentiality. Develop and sustain a high level of professionalism among staff and clientele.
  • Monitors the Fast-Track loan portfolio, which includes the SBA loan extensions. Works closely with Relationship Branch Managers.
  • Works closely with the commercial credit department providing information on behalf of loan officers and loading commercial credits for approval into the credit quest loan system.
  • Creates commercial credit files for new customers, maintain and file pertinent information for existing customer credit files.
  • Assists in gathering financial statements in anticipation of credit renewals or reviews. Tracks and monitors timely receipt of customer financial information on an ongoing basis.
  • Keeps abreast of ongoing developments in the fields of finance, banking in general, and commercial lending.
  • Assists the team with developing and implementing new or improved products and services established by the business unit.
  • Maintain and update all new policies or modifications to the guidelines and standards of the bank.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Education and Work Experience:

  • Associates degree required or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Two years of banking experience required.
  • Must have proficient computer skills, including Word and Excel, and excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and math skills.
  • Must be able to work independently, make decisions, handle multiple projects simultaneously and use discretion in setting priorities.
