Job Description

Vaco is currently seeking a skilled Revenue Accountant with a focus on accounts receivable to join a finance department. The Revenue Accountant will play a crucial role in managing revenue recognition processes, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, and maintaining positive relationships with clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee revenue recognition processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Generate and send accurate and timely invoices to clients, following up on overdue payments as needed.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable sub-ledger to general ledger and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and initiate collection efforts as necessary.
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to address billing inquiries and resolve customer disputes.
  • Prepare revenue-related journal entries and assist with month-end close activities.
  • Assist with financial reporting and analysis related to revenue and accounts receivable.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of revenue accounting processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in revenue accounting, with an emphasis on accounts receivable.
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and practices (ASC 606).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis is a plus.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
