Starting Pay Range: $21.00
Shifts Available and Hours:

Nightshift

Sunday-Thursday

10:30pm to 7:00am

Shift Premium: Nightshift - $1.50/hour extra

Job Summary:

The Extrusion Head-stretcher must possess comprehensive knowledge of stretching equipment, processes, systems, and daily operational procedures. They should be proficient in operating other equipment such as the tail-stretcher and finish saw, and capable of performing tasks typically assigned to trainees. This includes understanding the functionality and intricacies of each piece of equipment, ensuring seamless coordination between various operational stages, and maintaining optimal workflow efficiency throughout the extrusion process.

Required Education/Experience:
  • Proficiency in comprehending and executing fundamental instructions in English.
  • Possession of basic mathematical competencies, including the ability to operate a calculator and interpret measurements using a tape measure.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in utilizing operating and database systems relevant to the designated role, including Oracle, SCS, and Die Viewer.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate harmoniously within a team setting.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining essential tools and measuring equipment.
  • Capability to operate manufacturing equipment efficiently and safely is necessary.
  • Effective communication skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational abilities are essential for managing tasks effectively and efficiently.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Proficient in determining the appropriate number of pieces to stretch simultaneously and the maximum number of charges that can be accommodated on a table, considering variations in products.
  • Assists at the finish saw station as directed or when required, ensuring proper stacking of metal to maintain press workflow.
  • Capable of identifying mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues with the head-stretcher and reporting them promptly.
  • Handles materials with care to prevent scratches and dents, ensuring product quality.
  • Utilizes procedural systems and maintains effective communication with the press crew/lead to comprehend special instructions, quality alerts, or additional stretching process requirements.
  • Ensures efficient removal of saw chips from both ends of completed racks/free stacks.
  • Provides procedural guidance to the tail-stretcher and ensures adherence to instructions.
  • Safely maximizes press uptime, minimizes scrap rates, and enhances productivity and performance.
  • Knowledgeable about front/rear end-scrap amounts, either through systems or communication with the press team, to ensure that good product integrity is maintained during the stretching process.
  • Proficient in evaluating product finish against established standards and determining acceptability or identifying defects.
