Job Summary

Leads a team which sources and evaluates suppliers according to price, delivery conditions and quality of products.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement : Responsible for Managing a Team that Plans, purchases and controls the level of inventory necessary to effectively meet the Master Production Schedule and order backlog while reducing inventory levels. Establishes inventory levels. Assists in development of the production plan based upon sales orders, forecasts and historical demand for product. Negotiate purchased material delivery schedules.
  • Forecasts : Reviews shortage forecasts and initiates activities to expedite delivery. Reviews production schedules to adjust forecast of materials demand. Works with engineering and production in developing material planning required to forecast product requirements.
  • Suppliers : Develops relationships with suppliers to ensure product is available at an appropriate cost. Sources alternative suppliers of critical parts and components to insure dependable and cost effective supply.
  • Customer Supply : Plans and purchases materials for customer and planned requirements in order to support on-time customer shipments. Uses historical sales to forecast new sales.
  • Quality : Works with engineering to insure specifications are met on all purchased parts. Analyzes and identifies supplier quality trends to prevent problems. Finds alternative sources for products and/or parts.
  • Management: Develops and maintains a high performance team through recruitment, training, coaching and establishing goals and objectives
  • Other responsibilities as assigned or required .

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree is preferred in a supportive field. Supply Chain degree preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in Purchasing is required. International purchasing is preferred.
  • APICS certification and SAP experience are preferred.
  • A Successful candidate must have good analytical and problem solving skills, excellent communication, project management and organizational skills.
