We are seeking a Shipping Container Assembler to work in a custom machining and fabrication shop supporting various markets including Aerospace, Nuclear, Power Generation, and Defense. In this position you will have the opportunity to construct wooden shipping containers and package large scale custom parts. Applicants should have the following:

  • The ability to communicate well with peers, engineers and supervision

Duties:

  • Must be able to lift/manipulate wood onto the saw.
  • Read and follow blueprints or engineering drawings to create skids and custom boxes
  • Operate crane or fork truck to manipulate shipments onto truck for transportation or assembly/packaging.
  • Ensure proper shipping procedures are followed and shipping containers meet customer specifications.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.
  • Select materials and operate equipment to complete work with a variety of carpentry tools including nail or staple guns, impacts and drills and other hand tools, and larger machinery such as saws.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of working experience in a construction role
  • Previous carpentry experience strongly preferred
  • Previous experience with operating a fork truck or crane preferred
