Position:Tax Examiner III

Job Description:

LOCATION

Hybrid work from either our Jacksonville, FL or Atlanta, GA office is required with flexibility to work remote 1 day per week. Preferred work hours will be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Central time.

SUMMARY

Responsible for analyzing legal descriptions, Metes and Bounds, and plats and compares to tax maps to establish identity of property. Responsible for researching and gathering information for tax issues (e.g. delinquent tax lawsuits, delinquent and/or missing tax bills).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyzes legal descriptions/Metes and Bounds/plats and compares to tax maps to establish identity of property
  • Researches and gathers information for tax issues, e.g., delinquent tax lawsuits, delinquent and/or missing tax bills
  • Investigates property value and/or property exemption discrepancies
  • Keeps abreast of changes in state property tax laws
  • Provides Agricultural Tax Rollback estimates
  • Conducts research for claims
  • Manages new order, pending queue items
  • Performs normal customer support functions
  • Daily production of data entry of received information from HOA collectors
  • Daily production of sending out requests for HOA information from collectors via fax, email or phone
  • Researches and maintains information for HOA collector changes/updates on data base
  • Conducts research for claims
  • Manages new orders, pending queue items
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES

A high school diploma or GED is required for this role or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience is preferred

Five (5) or more years of customer service, client management experience, or other relevant work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • In-depth understanding of public record information
  • Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of public record information
  • Familiarity with property tax research
  • Documents client information and recurring issues to support product quality programs and product development
  • Communicates ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise, and professional manner
  • Ability to understand and apply concepts
  • Ability to use operating systems, browsers, databases and other technologies to troubleshoot client issues
  • Ability to handle projects commensurate with job expectations
  • Requires excellent presentation, writing, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Team skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally as well as externally
  • Flexibility, versatility, dependability
