The Siminoff Research Group for Informed Healthcare Decision Making and Effective Communication in the College of Public Health seeks a part-time research assistant (RA) to support research projects, including a study about organ donation among Black Americans. Responsibilities will focus primarily on organizing, transcribing, and handling interview and survey data.

Essential functions: Transcription of audio-recorded interviews with study participants; data entry; literature searches; document editing and preparation; administrative tasks; maintaining study files; Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
A bachelor's degree in public health, social sciences, or health-related fields and a minimum of six months of directly related work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:
*Prior experience with behavioral studies involving human subjects, i.e. NOT projects in wet labs
*Prior experience with transcribing and de-identifying audio-recorded interviews
*Data entry experience
*Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
*Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications
*Familiarity with academically oriented internet search engines (e.g. PubMed)
*Familiarity with academically oriented software (e.g. Zotero)
*Must have strong written and oral communication skills
*Must have strong organizational skills
*Excellent time-management skills
*Must be attentive to detail and adhere to deadlines
*Experience with medical terminology

Preferred:
*Knowledge of the US organ donation system
*Knowledge of health disparities in transplantation


This position requires a background check.
This is a grant funded position.

This position is temporarily assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
