THE OPPORTUNITY

The Business Intelligence and Analytics department seeks a Data Engineer to implement business intelligence and analytic solutions or adapt existing solutions that are consistent with the needs expressed by the business entities. The primary expertise is around transforming raw data into usable data for the purpose of delivering analytic solutions that provide actionable insights, but they participate in a team for the full development cycle from assisting in the capture and understanding of the needs of business entities to the delivery of a usable solution. They work with customers to build or redefine functional specifications. They verify the functional quality of developments by performing manual and/or automatic tests on a wide variety of devices and setups.

This position is based at our headquarters in Greenville, SC, conveniently located within driving distance to east coast beaches, the Blue Ridge Mountains and large cities like Atlanta and Charlotte. The mild climate, charming downtown, and impressive culinary scene are just a few of the perks of living here.

This position offers a hybrid in-office work schedule to allow for flexibility.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Work within a Lean and Agile team
  • Respect, follow, and advocate for corporate security measures
  • Understand the business' processes within its field and its use cases
  • Help the client/business partner in expressing its needs and understanding (through involvement in business activities) business requirements
  • Analyze, design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug solutions
  • Write code/build and perform testing and debugging of solutions
  • Maintain and improve existing solution
  • Design and implement changes to existing solutions
  • Build data pipelines using Azure DataFactory
  • Communicate effectively with client leadership and business partners
  • Participate in proposal and/or SOW development
  • Lead and/or mentor a small team of data engineers

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or relevant degree, or job experience is required
  • 2+ years of working with one or more databases like, Oracle, Azure Synapse Analytics, SQL Server is a plus
  • MicroStrategy experience is a plus
  • 2+ years of hands-on programming experience is required
  • 2+ years of Python is a plus
  • 2+ years of SQL is required
  • Knowledge of OLAP cubes
  • 2+ years of professional work experience on ETL pipeline implementation using Azure services such ADF, Functions, and Databricks is a plus
  • Ability to work independently, and provide mentorship to junior data engineers
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgement
