Statistical Analyst Programmer, Senior

Position Summary

Analyze research needs to determine feasibility of adapting manual procedures to computer applications; design, coordinate, and help to develop, modify, and maintain computer systems required to enhance clinical care and research.

Primary Responsibilities and Tasks

Specify, write, modify, maintain, validate, and provide oversight over programming projects

  • Oversee and lead programming projects
  • Develop programs to support research needs
  • Validate computer applications
  • Ensure programming SOP and guidance compliance as applicable

Learn, apply, and share new techniques to increase efficiencies

  • Assist management in improvements to departmental infrastructure
  • Help implement industry trend solutions (e.g., regulatory, technical, CDISC)
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Educate others in formal and informal settings

Estimate and manage project workload

  • Provide status updates to supervisor
  • Estimate time required to complete various tasks
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings as required
  • Coordinate statistical programming efforts of others on project

Prepare and maintain project documentation

  • Follow SOP documentation standards
  • Maintain analysis programming notebook

Other Duties

  • Answers analysis programming questions that others may have.
  • Attend departmental meetings
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Requirements and Specifications

Required Education/Training

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in mathematics or computer-related field, or equivalent coursework or technical training.

Required Experience

This position requires four years of progressive programming experience with knowledge of several computer languages, programs, or systems. Preferred experience includes previous clinical trials or clinical research experience, expert knowledge of SAS and/or R software, and sounds knowledge of the Linux operating system. Some experience in a supervisory capacity is also preferred.

Working Conditions

This position is conducted in a professional office working environment. Sporadic occasional night or weekend work may sometimes be required depending on the demands of the given research task.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work requires Bachelors degree in mathematics or computer science or a computer related field or equivalent coursework or technical training.

Experience

Work requires four years of progressive programming experience which OR ANY OTHER EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE. includes experience as a member of a development team implementing a major system and experience in a supervisory capacity.
