DUTIES: Work on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development. Be responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope. Make technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities. Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge. Lead the development of innovative principles and ideas. Act independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements. Work under consultative direction. Use independent judgment to accomplish objectives. Develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Conceive and plan investigation of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field required. Thirteen years of engineering experience required, including any experience with: aircraft electronic systems development and integration; FAA (14 CFR Part 25) and/or EASA (CS-25) certification; power generation, conversion, and distribution systems; leading and developing advance technology concepts through trade studies and requirements definition; contributing to state-of-the-art aircraft power systems through patents or publications; being a member of a Chief Engineering Office organization as a design release authority on aircraft electronic systems and as a contributor in the development of standards, design practices, and lessons learned oriented to aerospace electrical power systems; being an architect of aerospace electrical power systems; generating detailed system and component hardware and test specifications, Interface Control Documents, and working with partners and customers to optimize requirements and deliverables; developing aerospace high frequency electromagnetic design, embedded controls for power electronics, and transient/dynamic electric system theory and analysis for aerospace power generation, conversion, and distribution products; developing and implementing digital data bus architectures (e.g. RS-422, ARINC429, CAN); and mechanical design, thermal design, Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) of aerospace power generation, conversion, and distribution products. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field and thirteen years of engineering experience, the Employer will accept a Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field and eleven years of engineering experience OR a Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field and nine years of engineering experience.
