Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accountant Generalist is responsible for coordination of all accounting and financial reporting functions including: accounts payables and customer relations and education of role to the entire organization. This TEAMember embraces all components of the job, fostering an environment that allows Tabitha to provide optimum care to Tabitha's Seniors/residents/clients (hereinafter, "Seniors/clients"). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Coordinate and maintain the Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets systems
  1. Set up and maintain accurate and complete vendor and fixed asset files.
  2. Data enter and prepare invoices for payment, monitoring invoices for appropriate capitalization for assets
  3. Conducts check runs in a timely manner as established by the Director of Finance.
  4. Reconcile accounts payable and fixed asset general ledger accounts
  5. Conducts month end work papers and journal entries in a timely manner
  6. Provides feedback to internal leaders regarding the invoice coding process and departmental responsibility.
  7. Assures timeliness and appropriateness of monthly accruals for Tabitha and Affiliates
  8. Provides support and assistance during annual audit and produces information as requested for those involved
  9. Acts as a representative of Tabitha at all times, demonstrating professionalism in dress and appearance, courtesy, poise, attitude, interactions.
  10. Utilizes various computerized and manual systems effectively in the performance of job duties. Readily adjusts to changes in these systems.
  11. Prepares journal entries and maintains accounting work papers for preparation of financial statements
  12. Assures timeliness and appropriateness of monthly accruals for Tabitha and Affiliates
  13. Assists in the maintenance of the Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets systems
  14. Assists in the maintenance of accurate and complete vendor and fixed asset files.
  15. Data enter and prepare invoices for payment, monitoring invoices for appropriate capitalization for assets
  16. Ensures that value of fixed assets are accurate and follow GAAP valuations
  17. Conducts check runs in a timely manner as established by the Director of Finance
  18. Reconcile accounts payable and fixed asset general ledger accounts
  19. Conducts month end workpapers and journal entries in a timely manner
  20. Assists with the preparation of monthly sales tax reports with appropriate agencies

Qualifications

COMMUNICATION: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language as well as terminology and jargon specific to the job. Understands written and verbal instructions. Sufficient fluency to be able to train coworkers/TEAMembers. Able to hold a conversation, conduct or participate in meetings, compose professional e-mails or other written communication, complete documentation requirements of the job and interact with management, supervisor, peer coworkers, and managers of departments effectively. Ability to work with spreadsheets, write formulas and perform complex mental tasks. Participates in or leads meetings related to complex topics such as budget, strategic concepts, and Tabitha goals. Ability to respond calmly and clearly to stressful situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to gain access to the work area and then safely perform the duties of the job while utilizing standard and specialized equipment, including but not limited to the equipment described below. Ability to move about the work area. Ability to do sedentary work at a computer for hours at a time. Frequent periods of intense activity, but rare need for physical strength or physical exertion. (Occasionally lifting/carrying a box of records for example) Must have the ability to spot errors or to sense when data output contains an error. Vision and hearing within normal limits (with or without correction). Must have unrestricted lift/push/pull ability and pass a 25 - pound physical exam demonstrating strength and agility prior to employment and at Tabitha's discretion.
AGE REQUIREMENT: At least age 18.

EDUCATION: Associate's Degree in business field required.

EXPERIENCE: One to three years of experience in accounting preferred. Knowledge of various software packages and the ability to learn new software packages, including MS Office and Great Plains. Experience having worked in a healthcare setting is preferred.

LICENSURE: Must meet Tabitha's vaccination requirements.
