Quality Control Auditor

Job Description

This is a full-time position with typical business work hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, some over-time may be required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. As the Quality Control Auditor, you will be expected to demonstrate a sense of urgency, willingness to work closely with others, and be part of the team. This is a non-exempt position.

Purpose:

Quality Control Auditor performs risk assessments and transactional testing of loans selected for Quality Control to evaluate, analyze and assess risk, marketability and to detect errors and omissions as well as fraud and violation of line of business policies and procedures. Responsible for ensuring BOE/ENG Mortgage loans are quality products in compliance with Federal and State regulations, Investor's and Guarantor's guideline requirements.


Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Perform loan audits on data and documentation for accuracy and consistency, risk assessments and transactional testing of loans selected for QC to evaluate, analyze and assess marketability and to detect errors and omissions as well as fraud and violation of line of business policies and procedures.
  • Perform a post funding loan analysis to ensure loan documents, the origination, underwriting and funding of loans were in accordance with company policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations and meets regulatory compliance assessment and investor program requirements.
  • Determine if proper procedures were followed in the origination, underwriting and funding of the loans. Determine if the underwriter correctly calculated and approved the loan in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Document finds to provide management with an accurate and detailed picture of the issue.
  • Provide input for decision-making to identify the root cause of problems identified within the loan review audit.
  • Refer the appraisal for additional review when appropriate.
  • Remain current with regulation changes from government/state agencies, as well as policy changes from Agencies and Investors and company Policies and Procedures. Maintain knowledge of all underwriting guidelines.
  • Gather, investigate and review additional information and conduct additional research and/or testing as necessary, including targeted reviews. Ensure reviews/audits are performed in a timely manner in accordance with the established procedures and investor guidelines.
  • Protect Company's reputation and image by maintaining Borrower confidence; deliver a high level of customer service by keeping mortgage loan information confidential.
  • Provide input for change in processes that may be able to be done more effectively or efficiently. Bank of England Mortgage encourages employees to look for ways to improve processes, streamline work flow without losing quality of review.

Preferred Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required, College B.A., B.B.A., B.S. degree desired.
  • Proficient computer skills in all Microsoft applications, Excel and Mortgage Loan Applications/Software) Encompass 360 desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience is required. This position requires knowledge of mortgage loan processing and underwriting.
  • Detail oriented, define & solve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Excellent customer service skills; written and oral communication skills and ability to demonstrate control, flexibility and maintain quality and high productivity when dealing with customers and changing work demand.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements and broad base of experience in multiple areas of mortgage servicing operations.
  • Ability to multi-task and operate in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, branch management, corporate management, clients and the general public.
