SUMMARY: This position will work with indirect consumer loan packages to determine credit worthiness and suitability for approval. This position will routinely handle confidential documents and conduct a thorough financial analysis of appropriate client information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and underwrite indirect consumer loan applications in a consistent and timely manner
  • Perform in-depth analysis of individual and corporate tax returns, appraisals and credit reports
  • Properly prepare adverse action letters in a timely manner
  • Explain alternatives for restructuring credit if a restructure will benefit the applicants and provide counsel to Finance Mangers on credit related issues within the submitted loan application
  • Request missing loan documents from dealers
  • Communicate and interpret in a clear and concise manner any insufficient or inadequate data not properly documented or received, to the Indirect Loan Manager or other lending officer
  • Determine alternate documentation that can be used in lieu of standard requirements using sound judgment and prior knowledge/experience
  • Maintain positive business relationship with auto dealers, internal and external customers
  • Complete all mandatory and elective training, including BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) and Anti-Money Laundering procedures. Maintain compliance with all appropriate rules and regulations
  • Regular, predictable attendance is an essential requirement of this position
  • Assist Indirect Loan Funding Clerk reviewing and funding all indirect loans using bank guidelines
  • Complete other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of lending experience; auto industry experience preferred
  • Proven customer service skills, direct contact and via phone
  • Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet navigation/research, and Outlook is expected
