Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking a test engineer profession who can join our tactical integration test team to help us design and execute test events. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, learning new technology areas, this is the place for you. We provide numerous opportunities to learn ranging from on-the-job training with other team members to formal courses for unique technology areas. We are looking for a canddiate with a system engineering foundation, along with the drive and motivation to learn all other required areas. Position responsibilities can span from customized test configurations to lab infrastructure support. This position provides support to the 46 Test Squadron (46 TS) at Eglin AFB as a member of the tactical integration test team responsible for planning, designing, and executing test events for tactical system programs. nt.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform as a member of the 46 TS Test team.
  • Interface directly with 46 TS customers and other DOD components as well as product development contractors.
  • Technical review of customer requirements and participate in test planning meetings.
  • Develop test plans and procedures, and schedules.
  • Execute test events within the constraints of customer requirements, collect data and conduct analysis, and produce timely test reports.
  • Operate data link systems and equipment.
  • Develop in depth understanding and working knowledge of applicable current and emerging tactical data link systems, implementation, and operation.
  • Develop in depth understanding and working knowledge of applicable Military Standards such as MIL-STDs 3011, 6016, 6020 and emerging tactical message formats and protocols.
  • Author technical documents and briefings and conduct formal presentations.
  • Travel to other locations, as required, to attend meetings and conduct test events.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field and at minimum of 3 years of applicable experience is required. Six years of applicable experience may be substituted for an applicable BS Degree or four years of applicable experience and an applicable Associates Degree.
  • Military tactical data links relative to C4ISR operations.
  • Good understanding of basic computer networking.
  • Good understanding of computer system design and software development.
  • *Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizen and ability to qualify for U.S. Top Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to communicate and present technical details both written and verbally.
  • *Able to travel to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations, CONUS and OCONUS up to 25% of the time.
  • Strong work ethic; Comfortable working in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Technical experience with Link 16, SADL, and VMF.

* Technical experience in the areas related to tactical data link radios.

* Experience with AF Command and Control processes.

* Experience with tactical data links mission threads.

* Proficiency with the Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems.

* Understanding of DT&E processes, specifically acquisition program development.

* Knowledge of data analysis methods and tools.

* Able to evaluate tactical communications emerging technologies.

* Security+ certification.
