Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Urban Planner 2, we'll count on you to:

  • Act as a project manager, work with other project managers and peers to deliver a variety of land use and planning projects
  • Lead projects, project tasks and delegate assignments to team members
  • Collect, assimilate and manage project-related data for projects
  • Conduct technical analysis including but not limited to code review, land use planning, functional planning/design, multi-modal level of service analysis, geospatial analysis, and general data analysis
  • Develop graphical interpretation of complex data analyses using tools such as ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator, and/or In-Design, etc.
  • Assist in preparation and participation of public information meetings and hearings. Lead meetings if required
  • Regular coordination across disciplines (e.g., architecture, engineering, transportation planning, environmental planning, urban design, etc.)
  • Within a dynamic, team-focused environment, demonstrate a willingness to be flexible, collaborate, problem solve, innovate, and perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, GIS, Geography, or closely related field
  • 5+ years of relevant planning experience
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) or other relevant certification
  • Experience in GIS software, geospatial analysis, and graphical interpretation of complex data into materials for public consumption
  • Familiarity with planning policies and guiding documents
  • Fluency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of virtual engagement tools, and data collection methods and data analysis
  • Self-starter with great analytical, organizational, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to travel
