Job Description
Participates with and provides work direction to employees engaged in a variety of housekeeping functions in a limited area on an assigned shift. Primary responsibility is the effective use of proper methods and materials in cleaning and otherwise caring for buildings and equipment to meet operational standards. Provides training and mentoring as assigned by leadership. Ensures all safety and infection control standards are followed during the assigned shift.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year experience in institutional housekeeping work or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Working knowledge of materials, methods and practices used in cleaning operations.
  • Working knowledge of the operation and care of vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing machines and other housekeeping equipment.
  • Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces.
  • Ability to lead, mentor and influence employees
  • If driving is a requirement for the employee, he/she must meet the requirements specified in the Fleet Driving Safety and Compliance Policy and must continue to meet these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients and visitors
  • Ability to lift and/or carry 50lbs on a consistent basis - sometimes additional weight on an infrequent basis
  • Ability to read and understand labeling directions on various cleaning chemicals in order to know contents and understand and follow first aid instructions.
