As a Test Engineer in our Optical Solutions division, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of our cutting-edge high-speed optical transceivers.


What You Will Do

  1. Transceiver Testing:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for high-speed optical transceivers, including performance, reliability, and environmental testing.
    • Setup and maintain test stations, perform required calibrations, and Gage R&R for station validation.
    • Conduct functional, stress, and compliance testing to validate product specifications. Understand parametric test essentials for Optical Transceiver production.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues identified during testing.
  2. Test Automation:
    • Design and implement automated test scripts for repetitive testing procedures.
    • Utilize industry-standard test equipment and software tools to streamline testing processes.
    • Continuously improve test automation frameworks to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  3. Optical System Expertise:
    • Understand the principles of optical communication systems, including modulation formats, dispersion, and noise.
    • Collaborate with optical design engineers to optimize transceiver performance and reliability.
  4. Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the product development lifecycle.
    • Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports.
    • Maintain accurate records of test results, configurations, and calibration data.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience in testing high-speed optical transceivers or in related fiber optic arena.
  • Proficiency in using optical test equipment (such as optical spectrum analyzers, bit error rate testers, optical power and polarization measurements, and oscilloscopes).
  • Familiarity with industry standards for 100G/400G/800G with Coherent technologies or PAM4 modulation formats, and with optical communication protocols.
  • Understand and experienced with device testing protocols using I2C, SPI, VISA, and Ethernet.
  • Familiarity with one of the programming platforms such as Python, LabVIEW, Matlab, or C#/C++/C
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
