Senate Bill 411 merged the Department of Corrections and the Board of Probation and Parole. This position is within the Department of Corrections.
As a Parole Communications Operator, you will provide support to parole supervision staff by receiving, interpreting, transmitting, and coordinating communications and activities in the twenty-four (24) hour operations monitoring center. You will respond to messages received through various electronic means and prioritize, as well as determine the appropriate response to incoming communications including urgent or emergency messages. You will also relay messages and other communications to parole supervision staff and evaluate alert data concerning potential violations by offenders subject to electronic monitoring. In addition, you will operate and monitor two-way radios, maintain an accurate log of Parole Board and Department of Corrections applications on personal computers, the Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network/National Crime Information Center (CLEAN/NCIC) and Justice Network (JNET) terminals, telephones, and facsimile machines.
