We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Sr. Program Officer-Foundation on our AMA Foundation team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.
As a Sr. Program Officer-Foundation, you will working closely with the Executive Director, responsible for the management of the AMAF's portfolio of charitable programs from conception to implementation. Serve as the primary staff liaison to related volunteer committees as well as to grantees and other key stakeholders. Direct the activities of the Program Committee and the LGBTQ+ Fellowship Commission. Work with individual and institutional donors related to their respective program support.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in non-profit administration or related field preferred.
2. Minimum 7+ years of experience in non-profit programming.
3. Extensive familiarity with educational programs, such as training, internships and/or fellowship programs; knowledge of medical school education preferred.
4. Minimum 3+ years of experience in people management; able to grow and mentor staff.
5. Demonstrated ability to strategically oversee and implement programs, administer grants, and evaluate programs. Experience working directly with Board members, industry representatives, and medical experts; experience working with committees to achieve desired goals.
6. Excellent project management and budget development skills, including a successful track record of independently coordinating and completing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft software suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) required; experience with Raiser's Edge database and Bill.com preferred
8. Well-developed public speaking skills, and presentation skills.
9. Demonstrated ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion.
10. Some travel is required.
