Work Schedule: This is an on-call pool position; hours to be determined; Non-exempt position. This position is not eligible for benefits.
Essential Functions: Under the supervision of an assigned administrator, the Stage Technician employee's pool is comprised of skilled and proficient stage technicians. These stage technicians shall be multi skilled in various areas of theatre craft, allowing greater flexibility when coordinating both small and large-scale productions. The incumbent's possession of the required qualifications and experience allows for a safe stage environment and for technically sound productions. Duties include but are not limited to: carpentry, rigging, hanging, focusing, audio setup, light direction, videography, loading and unloading, security, lead duties and stage management; the application of various stagecraft techniques supporting performances and events; the inspecting and maintenance of house equipment and the enforcement of University and LFAC policies and operating procedures.
Requirements: The incumbent must have two years of professional experience working for a professional theatre, repertory or stock company and has engaged in an applicable production specialty such as costume construction, stage and set constructions, lighting production, videography and/or audio engineering. This experience can consist of professional training or applicable college coursework and practical experience.
The incumbent must demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the UAS. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current UAS employees who apply for the position.
