Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a People Operation (Human Resources) Undergraduate Intern for our Crystal City, VA location.

The qualified candidate will become a part of the Defense System Group (DSG) and Civil Systems Group (CSG) People Operations team. The People Operations intern will be placed in a creative, professional and energetic environment where she or he will work on projects that align with the company's business strategies. The candidate will obtain hands on experience through projects in HR functions such as: Total Rewards and Performance Management, Labor Relations, Talent and Organizational Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Workforce Strategy and Analytics.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Support the development and documentation of People Operations projects, such as employee retention programs, performance management, compensation, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership team on HR reporting and analysis.
  • Provide administrative support to People Operations team as needed
  • Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners.
  • Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks.
  • Training and mentorship will be provided.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Rising Senior or above who is currently enrolled at an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a [Bachelor's] degree in Human Resources, Labor & Industrial Relations, Organization Development or related program
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance
  • US Citizenship required
  • Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data
  • Superior organizational skills; results-focused with superb execution and follow-through; highly detail-oriented Example: Experience programming in C, C++ or JAVA

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • GPA 3.5 or higher
  • Active security clearance
